"It is springtime, flowers bloom, spirits sing and chaos looms."
Written By Kira Hayes & Bewlay Stanton
Directed By Ed Cooke
Across the sea, deep in a forest, far from warring lands, stands a tree. A noble tree of great power. Pure. So pure, in fact, that all thoughts of violence and rage, grief and melancholy, disappeared from those who discovered it long ago. The people here are safe from the outside world and from each other, for the tree has made them creatures of joy and love. No dark thoughts are permitted, for none are possible, and yet the passing of Bracken’s father has taken from him his joy and love.
Stolen glances. Moonlit visits. A stranger in a red cloak. What secrets will come to light in this new darkness?
A tale of guilt and grief, passion and deceit told through a mixture of folk and rock music, The Myre is the guttural debut musical from writer-composer duo Stanton and Hayes.
